SailingVolant.org is a blog intended for the benefit of crew mates and friends of the Beneteau First 10R "Volant", sailing out of St. Joseph, Michigan, USA. Use this website as a current source for sailing news, notices about upcoming sailing events, season sailing schedule, information about the Beneteau First 10R, race regatta logistics, learning resources for sailing and racing, information about maintenance, and sailing logbook.
The content in SailingVolant.org is organized in pages: Posts, Events, Schedule, Resources, First 10R, Racing, Cruising, Learning, Video, Music, Maintenance, and Logbook. The blog engine template I use has a main content section in the middle and two sidebars. The left sidebar contains various site navigation aids: Search, Popular Posts, Blog Archive, Labels, Contact, Get Notified, Origins of the Name, and Contributors. The right sidebar contains links to resources: Yacht Clubs/Marinas, Marine Weather, Organizations, Sailing Resources, Training, Sailing Community, Marine Outfitters, Sailmakers, and Sales & Service.
The sidebars on SailingVolant.org may not appear on devices like cellphones that have smaller viewing area than a laptop browser unless the site is opened in "web view". That is caused by compromises for responsive design of how the blogspot engine renders content for different resolutions. Opening in web view should see the whole site.
The site allows public access and commenting, but access can be restricted and commenting moderated, if spam occurs and makes that necessary. Feel free to use the Enter Comment form at the bottom of posts and pages to voice your opinion and initiate some discussion! In the time since I originally posted this, I have added to and re-arranged the widgets on the left sidebar to make them more useful.
ReplyDeleteI plan to remove the Volant Facebook page. It's more than 15 months old and obsolete now.
