Lest you think this website is dull, dry, and boring, here is something exciting and useful, finally!...
Karen found this Juan Gil Blue Label red wine from Jumilla, Spain, produced by Vinas Familia GIL Family Estates in 2018. It is a blend of Monastrell, Cabernet-Sauvignon, and Syrah grapes, fermented in American and French oak. We really enjoyed it. It is bold and bright, with a peppery, spicy finish. You might presume that a French boat should have only French wine aboard, but we can grant an exception for this wine! Mais oui.
Some of us attended a webinar on Night Sailing Demystified. Among many useful tips, I learned that "captain's orders" is a thing - written notes providing operations guidance for the on-watch crew. So, I hereby issue the first (of many!) captain's orders for Volant's scurvy crew!...
CO#1: If you come across this Juan Gil, feel free to buy a bottle and bring it aboard.
Thoughtfully, Beneteau designed the 10R with a wine locker! Quelle bonne idee! ;-)Thanks, Jack and Romy!
